Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is the most anticipated augmented reality supported mobile game of the 2018. After the hype of Pokemon GO, Niantic is developing a new mobile game called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.

Just like Pokemon GO, players are using the real world for the game. Exploring around for in game experience, interactions and much more.

There is a big hype for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Many players around the globe waiting impatiently for the release. Niantic is very cautious about the gossips and other fake news because of the experience that they earned from Pokemon GO. But the officials are already stated release date of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.

When Will the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Release?

The game developers, Niantic released the first information about the game back in 2017. But, the date changed for a few times. Recent and actual release date announced a few months ago, in China, by the CEO of Niantic, John Hanke.

Hanke stated, Niantic will release the game in the second half of 2018, in an interview with Financial Times. Also, he mentioned about fake news and other rumors that might affect player’s expectations. He said, Niantic is working hard for the best AR gaming experience for the Harry Potter fans.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Available Countries

Niantic and other developers still didn’t announce available countries of the game. But there are some hints about the release.

John Hanke stated, this time they are working hard on suggestions before the official release of the game. That means, this time Niantic might publish the game all around the world, at the same time with many language support.

As we can see it in the official webpage of the game, there are already 19 supported languages. This might be a hint about the locations which will get the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, first.

But, this list doesn’t mean those countries will get the Wizards Unite. Especially because of the government regulations in countries like China and Russia, might be a trouble for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.

Wizards Unite is a GPS based game, so those countries that is regulating the usage of GPS in foreign mobile apps. This might be a big block for the game in those countries.

Also, Wizards Unite is becoming a trademark around the world. Niantic trademarked its rights and names about the game in many countries, but it is still pending in some countries, including United States and European Union. Niantic expecting to solve this pending application before the initial release, but still there is a possibility for delays in the release, if they can’t fix the issue.

Niantic is silent about the country list. They are trying to reach a big audience, as we can see it on the official languages. But when it comes to the release, it is very hard to predict what is the future holding.

Update: Release Date of the Wizards Unite May Change

Wizards Unite’s release date was announced as second half of the 2018, in an event at 2018 April, but it might be change.

According to the interview of the Eurogamer, at Dortmund Safari Zone, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite’s release date is unknown, might be postponed. John Hanke stated, there is no certain time frame for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and the game could be published in second half of 2018 or it could be postponed to the next year.

Even the event was about Pokemon Go, Hanke answered questions about Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and said it is possible to postpone the release to 2019.

But there is some good news too. If Niantic postpone the release, beta test will still live in the second half of 2018. The beta test which you can join with an invitation will provide a safe environment to developers for fixing bugs and trying new features before the official release.

The Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, that is the most anticipated game by Potterheads was expected in the second half of 2018 and people were waiting restively. But according to the statements of John Hanke, CEO of Niantic, the release date is now uncertain.
