Horcrux spell can only be casted with committing a great act of evil. This makes Horcrux the most dangerous dark magic spell of all times. Even talking and searching about Horcrux magic is banned in Hogwarts, along with all other wizarding schools. Because of that, there are very little information about how to create horcrux or anything mentions this spell.
How to Destroy Horcruxes?
To destroy an Horcrux, the object must be destroyed. This can be done with magic or physical force. But dark wizards usually use various spells to protect their Horcruxes from destruction.
Dark wizards can cast the Horcrux spell on human beings or any other living creature, not only objects. If wizard casts Horcrux on a living object, the only way to destroy it is killing the creature.
Every Horcrux has limited magical abilities. This abilities changes by dark wizard’s character and traits. This can affect the wearer’s mind by showing different pictures or memories, changing the characteristic of the wearer. This happened to Ron Weasley while he was wearing Salazar Slytherin’s Locket.
Horcruxes are usually bad for wizards, but they can contain good effects for dark wizards and powers up those skills. If the wearer of an Horcrux is a dark wizard or interested in dark magic, especially if the wearer’s thoughts are parallel with the creator of Horcrux, Horcrux can power up its wearer’s magical abilities. For instance, Dolores Umbridge’s magical abilities were powered up by Salazar Slytherin’s Locket.
Usually, the dark wizard who creates Horcrux transforms inhuman shape. According to some magical sources, Horcrux spell causes wizards to lose their souls. With this effects, some physical changes can happen. The caster turns into something different as we can see on Lord Voldemort.
Horcruxes also changes its caster’s characteristic. It makes the wizard very unstable and causes madness in certain situations. This makes Horcruxes very dangerous for its creator.
With all those side effects, when someone creates a Horcruxes, his or her soul stuck on this side of the world and couldn’t go to other side after death, even all the Horcruxes are destroyed. Caster stuck in Limbo for the eternity. Lord Voldemort’s soul’s one piece is still lives in Harry Potter, even the Horcrux is destroyed. So that caused he stuck in Limbo after his death.
